The best investment a lawyer can make is improving his or her basic working tool – words. Error-free Legal English is something clients and employers notice and insist on and leads to:
- good appraisals, getting ahead, salary increases and becoming a partner - feeling more professional and confident - not wasting time and money rereading and checking - reduced risk of errors and negligence claims
The investment for a practising lawyer is certainly worth the time saving and the improved performance and professional image which will follow.
”Time cost” is important.
You can do the ACE Legal English courses when and where you want – your desk, commuting, at home, wherever there’s an internet connection - over twelve months. The courses are divided into quizzes and each quiz takes between 5 and 15 minutes. (It depends on how much time you want to spend on the explanations which in turn probably depends how many questions you got right.) Some people have done all the courses in two days but it’s not a race. Doing two or three quizzes (30 to 60 minutes in total) a week is more realistic and works well.
